A new obsession has found me. A very curious obsession which i am glad to say is destined for a short life... 

I am sniffing out and eliminating draughts!?! Yes, crazy stuff, but so satisfying when another draught bites the dust... crazy... 

I've just spent the last few hours filling gaps underneath my window frames - gaps that are invisible unless you happen to clamber underneath the dining table, or sit on the floor under any one of 3 other windows and then direct your gaze toward the point where wall and frame join. 

And there you have it - they don't join!! Where wall and window frame should sit tightly together, they've shifted slightly apart over time as the house has moved and breathed - so that a flow of cold wintry air has been steadily, stealthily and silently negating the hot air emitted by the heater directly below. Yes, 3 of the 4 windows i've draught proofed tonight have a heater directly below! i've been spending money heating my draughts... crazy...

Now I sit smug and snug. An eliminator of draughts, a draught warrior who has conquered. Obsession over...

Last night i fell in love and rediscovered the belly laugh. 

Yes, the object of my affection is also the object of my hysterical laughter. It is a totally one-sided love affair, but how could i resist its intensity, its sense of drama and power?? Really there was no option but to succumb...

Bonjour mes amis, whoever you are!! 

So strange beginning this, spinning a few words off into the void not knowing if they will be read by anyone, and, not really having any attachment to whether they are or not... maybe this is the beginning of a new Zen influenced stage of life where non-attachment, non-resistance, and non-identification start to manifest in my everyday messy reality... and right now, glancing at the clock on my screen I see that I have to really rush off in much haste to meet a friend (a non-attached, non-resistant, non-identified kind of hurry of course) - am always running late!!!!!
